Into Midnight
Jon Porras' Super 8 film for his new album Black Mesa
1 May 2012
Featured on JON PORRAS’ latest solo album, Black Mesa. JON PORRAS is one half of San Franciscean band Barn Owl. Porras’ second solo album reflects on the search for light in a desolate, barren land, loosely following an outlaw wanderer’s journey into the desert discovering the Black Mesa – a bridge between worlds. Porras’ experimental short loosely sees a desert spectre emerging from a cave journeying into a valley. Shot on a Super 8 camera, Porras explores a liminal space where light and darkness tense, as the Day abandons itself into a mysterious realm of the Night.
Black Mesa by JON PORRAS is released by Thrill Jockey Records.
